A guide for sons, daughters & families
If a parent — or a friend — is considering Tu Andalucía, this page answers the questions families ask first. Print it, share it, bring it to Sunday lunch.
What this is — and what it isn't
Tu Andalucía helps people approaching retirement with small pensions relocate together, as communities of like-minded people, to affordable Spanish villages that want new residents. It is a pilot-phase project, in dialogue with the town hall of Larva (Jaén). It is not a residence, not a property scheme, and not an investment: nobody buys anything from us.
The money facts
- We never touch the housing money. Your parent pays owners, agency and notary directly. Contracts are in your parent's name only.
- Finding out is free. Registering, talking to us and meeting the community cost nothing.
- The exploratory trip is paid at cost, stated before booking. Any relocation services have fixed, written prices, agreed before any commitment.
- No commission on homes. Ever.
Pension & healthcare
- EU pensions are paid in full anywhere in the Union — no cuts for living in Spain.
- With the S1 form, your parent joins the Spanish public health system at their home country's expense. We prepare the paperwork together.
- We only propose villages with basic healthcare on site and a reachable hospital — every village page states the distances.
Four steps, all reversible
1) Meet the community online — free, no commitment. 2) Visit the village with the group (you can come too). 3) Try living there in a rental. 4) Only then decide. Your parent can stop at any step. Nothing is signed until they choose to sign with owners and notary, in their own name.
Questions you should ask us
- Who exactly is behind the project, and can we speak before any visit? (Yes — write to us and a person answers.)
- Can we see the agreement with the town hall? (The pilot is being formalized; we share status honestly.)
- What does the trip cost, exactly, before we book? (Always stated in writing first.)
- Can I join the exploratory trip with my parent? (Yes, and we encourage it.)
